Legendarni komičar koji se uglavnom fokusirao na besmislice u svakodnevnom životu, od frustriranih ljudi preko zafrkancije sa silovanjem do najboljeg dijela: religije. Njegove sarkastične primjedbe su uveseljavale na tisuće ljudi širom svijeta, bilo vjernike bilo nevjernike jer humor je najbolja stvar koju čovjek ima.

And, although I have not participated in a surgery myself, those who have (including my girlfriend, a veterinary student) assure me that in surgery, veins within the body do not appear blue either. So, not only is blood not blue, veins on their own aren't either. "Blue veins", then, are a phenomenon unique to the skin.

Jonathan Wells, biolog koji očito nema veze sa biologijom je kritizirao nedavni rad How Bacteria Gain Resistance To Multiple Types Of Antibiotics: Mechanism Discovered u kojem autori Frédérique Maurice et al. pišu kako su koristeći teoriju evolucije istraživali strukturu enzima. Wells komentira da se evolucija apsolutno nigdje te da to nema veze sa teorijom evolucije.

Ian Musgrave je detaljno srušio sve Wellsove teze na Panda's Thumb sa sarkastičnim naslovom How stupid do they think we are? Prikladno jer se još jednom demonstrira moć ID-a kao pokreta: određene individue šire dezinformacije koje će sigurno naći svoj put do debata diljem interneta i još jednom uvjeriti cdesign proponentist-e da ID ima znanstvenog utemeljenja i da je negiranje evolucije i kritiziranje tuđih radova produktivan način da se potvrdi ID. Ono što je fascinantno je da su sami autori originalnog članka ostali zbunjeni takvom kritikom i reagirali su u komentaru

As principal investigator of the study under discussion, I’d like to strongly support the view advocated this page. In fact, I was completely amazed to see how our work has been misrepresented by M. Wells.

Actually, we did indeed use darwinian evolution within this work (something unusual in structural biology). In order to obtain an enzyme with increased stability (a critical point for structural studies), we used selective pressure to obtain mutants of the enzyme. We selected for bateria with increased aminiglycoside resistance, by plating them on antibiotic containing medium. It turned out that some bacteria evolved such stabler enzymes variants which made this whole study possible !

Finally, I would not consider myself as a chemist, I got my PhD in molecular microbiology. It seems that M. Wells finds it easier to portray us as non-biologists, and hence implicitly as non-evolutionists
